The El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, granted by the National Government, was accredited with the Carbon Footprint by the International Airports Council for Latin America and the Caribbean, which exalted its policies aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable development.
With El Dorado’s commitment to constant improvement, the concessionaire Opain SA will reduce its emissions by 2%, through the following ongoing projects: restructuring of the waste management model, creation of a program to implement energy-using equipment Renewable – solar panels for security cameras – and planting 970 trees during 2017 in different parts of the national territory.
Another of El Dorado’s major plans is the implementation of a pilot plan for the use of electric vehicles at the airport, replacing those of internal combustion.
